The cream of Britpop lay down "Help", led by Go! Discs' Tony Crean and PR Terri Hall
Crean: .......We had trouble fitting all the tracks on - I had to tell the artists not to make their tracks longer than 3 minutes 45. But the Stereo MCs still came in at five minutes! Dave Stewart was up for a track, but I couldn't guarantee it would go on, and when Bill Drummond told me The KLF (One World Orchestra) track was only two minutes, it was a cert. Robbie from Take That was going to be singing on it, but he'd gone on holiday. Then they wanted to put loads of Take That fans on it, but that idea fell through as well. So, in the
end, they did this live link-up broadcast thing with this underground radio station in Serbia. They did it as a jingle for the station, basically.
Hall: It was supposed to be the first track, but Eno (the producer) was, "No, no that's too political, too taking sides"."
